I wondered why not all books listed have both these numbers. It would be very helpful to know these as I am assisting a colleague in Rwanda to classify his books. If anyone has any tricks they use to find these, please help asap. Thanks.

Not all libraries use dewey as their system for classification, which is likely why it is not supplied with both of these numbers. ISBN numbers are usually found on all books. If you have the ISBN, you could try something like WorldCat, which includes thousands of libraries around the world. By searching the isbn in WorldCat, you should be able to find a library that will provide the dewey number that they use.
